Certified Mail Services (PEC)

Certified Electronic Mail is a service that allows to send and receive messages to other certified electronic mail account and to have a delivery receipt, with full legal probative value. The service certifies the date and time of sending and delivery of the message through acceptance and delivery receipts issued by the operators.

It is based on the Italian “Posta Elettronica Certificata – PEC” service, being fully compliant with the Italian standard and its regulatory framework. Soon, the Italian PEC will become European and qualified, in compliance with eIDAS regulation and ETSI REM baseline. The legal value will extend to all EU countries, all PEC account holders will be identified with certainty, two-factor authentication will be introduced for accessing the service, and the service will become a Qualified Electronic Registered Delivery Services (QERDS). In Italy, Certified Electronic Mail is already mandatory for companies, public administrations, and professionals, who must register their email address in specific public registers.

Main advantages of the service

Certified mailboxes can be purchased:

• on the domain mail-pec.net, so the certified email address will be like namebox@mail-pec.net;
• on your own certified domain, so the certified email address will be like namebox@pec.mydomain.it. In the latter case, if the domain has not yet been registered, it can be purchased in our Domains section before certifying it and associating a certified mailbox with it.

Features of the security archive

It consists of additional space to the PEC mailbox, where it is possible to securely and automatically store not only certified mail messages but also notifications, receipts, and, in general, all incoming traffic to the mailbox (default setting). The classification of archived messages is automatic and grouped by category:

• Acceptances
• Deliveries
• Certified Mail
• Other

Features of the replacement conservation

It consists of the replacement conservation activity (in compliance with the law) of the content of the security archive of the mailbox. All stored messages are marked with a green gavel icon; stored messages can no longer be deleted.
